 Ashley Cole was once the favorite among Arsenal fans but his switch from Arsenal to Chelsea this season has ruined his popularity among fans. With Chelsea scheduled to play Arsenal this Sunday in Emirates Stadium, Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has urged Arsenal fans not to give Ashley Cole a rough ride. Interestingly, this is going to be the first appearance of Cole at Arsenal since his acrimonious transfer to London rivals Chelsea last August. Cole was not satisfied with club officials over his fees. He was adamant that he deserve much more than what he is getting. On the other hand, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was clear in his mind that player can¡¯t judge his price, it¡¯s the job of manager. With Chelsea showing deep interest in Cole and that too with high price, Wenger was left with no option other than to sell Cole. Arsenal supporters dubbed Cole ¡°Cashley¡± due to his perceived greed and waved fake English pound notes with the player¡¯s face on them when Arsenal played Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in December. That hostile reception is bound to increase, as this time around Arsenal will be playing on home turf. |
